Meet Briony, Physio at Belrose

Hi I'm Briony! I'm a Physiotherapist passionate about helping people overcome injuries and achieve their goals.

My passion for Physiotherapy was sparked in my younger years while participating in multiple sports and inevitably picking up injuries along the way. I have firsthand experience of how pain and these setbacks can impact people. Having spent many years competing in sports such as horse riding, athletics, netball, and squash, to name a few, my love for sport and being active continued into my adult life. These days, you’ll usually find me outdoors running, cycling, or swimming. I also dabble in CrossFit training, so I’m very average at shifting tin and swinging around rigs!

Throughout my career, I have worked in various settings, including hospitals, private clinics, and sports teams. I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life and of all ages, including paediatrics and youth athletes, which has given me well-rounded experience.

My objective as a Physiotherapist is to listen to your story, collaborate with you on a treatment plan, and help you achieve your goals to become the best possible version of yourself.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO PEOPLE’S LIVES?

Making a difference to people's lives to me, means having a positive impact, improving people's outcomes and their daily function.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET INTO PHYSIOTHERAPY?

My passion for Physiotherapy was sparked in my younger years whilst taking part in multiple sports and inevitably picking up multiple injuries along the way. I have first hand experience of how pain and these set backs can impact people, this lit my desire to help people through those tough times.

WHAT TYPES OF PATIENTS DO YOU ENJOY WORKING WITH THE MOST AND WHY?

I enjoy working with a variety of patients, including CrossFitters, weekend warriors, athletes, young guns, and post-op clients. What I love most is helping people work towards their goals—no matter what those goals may be or the level we’re aiming for. The most important thing is trusting the process and working together to achieve great results.

SHOUTOUT TO ONE PERSON WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU AND WHY.

Jessica Ennis, British Heptathlete, the dedication and discipline it takes to be world class in any sport is very commendable. However, being able to perform and succeed in multiple disciplines within the Heptathlon is a different level of motivation and determination which I admire.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?

Never give up, because you deserve to see what happens when your hard work pays off.

What is the one thing you have achieved that, if you could time travel, you would want to tell your 10-year-old self?

Moving across the other side of the world to continue my Physiotherapy career.

IF THEY MADE A MOVIE ABOUT YOU, WHO WOULD YOU WANT TO PLAY YOU?

This is tricky, it would be between Scarlett Johansson and Emily Blunt.
